IMPORTANT! We are not the organizers of the event. Some of the dates above might change by one or two days if there is a Buddhist holiday at full moon.
Others Moon Parties
You might also want to visit the Black Moon and Half Moon Parties arranged at Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.
The location for these parties tends to change. The Black Moon Parties on Samui was often held at "Secret Beach" at Samrong Bay, but now they also arrange them at Chaweng beach.
The also use to have a Black Moon Party on Had Rin beach on Phangan nowadays.
Also there is a Half Moon Party at Koh Phangan rather near Bang Tai and Thongsala on the road to Thong Nai Pan.
Please have a look at the official sites for more information. You can also get a lot of info about dates and locations at travel agencies and night clubs on Samui and Phangan.
The "After Party"!
If you can still stand up on your legs after the Full Moon Party, you can also attend the After Party at dawn.
It is located on the beachside in the village of Ban Tai, following the road from Haad Rin to Thong Sala.
Several road signs indicate the way.
Please keep the beaches clean and be gentle with all natural resources on Koh Phangan...

"The" party!
Full Moon Party is an enormous party organized during every full moon night, on the beach of Hat
Rin, situated on the east end of the island of Koh Pha-Ngan (Samui Archipelago, north of Koh Samui).
It began about ten years ago with a group of tourists seating quietly on the beach and who thought
that the best place to admire the full moon was on Koh Pha-Ngan. Nowadays it gathers together
between 7'000 and 10'000 revellers each month and it has the reputation to be the biggest
"party" of Asia!
The techno amateurs will be delighted, you will be able to bustle around on the frenzied rhythms
of the last hit of the moment and this until dawn!
How to get there?
Going there from Koh Samui it is easy, no problems, many hoardings for advertisement become visible in front of travel agencies a few
days before the party and you will be able to get yourselves a speedboat return ticket
(departure at the end of day, and return at dawn) and transfer by minibus from your hotel to
pier inclusive, from any travel agency.
Finding an accommodation
On Hat Rin Beach, it is very difficult to find a bungalow some days before and after Full Moon Party.
Anyway, it doesn't matter since you can anticipate the lack of lodging during the party by booking an accommodation which will match your needs, in advance
Find a Hotel on Koh Phangan...
A few recommendations to FMP goers
Pollution on the island is reaching unacceptable levels largerly on account of the monthly Full Moon party held on the beach of Hat Rin.
Until now, the authorities have disposed of the rubbish generated at the world famous party by burying it in land fill sites.
Travellers and tourists who attend the party are urged to help in the fight against pollution (12 tons of rubbish per day average), by disposing of bottles, cans and packaging in a responsible way (separating garbage for recycling).
Taking action now may avert an environmental disaster in the future.
And last but not least, please refrain from consuming drugs, you will incur exorbitant fines (an average of 50'000 baht and beyond) or, as the case may be, even getting deportated.
The policemen enforce roadblocks more frequently right before the party. Those are not routine checkings and they thoroughly frisk suspects and their belongings (even the bike's tank or tyres sometimes).
