ELEPHANT TREKKING

If you like admiring nature undisturbed by the noise of an engine, why not making a trek on the back of an elephant!

Since forests are protected in Thailand, the elephants had to find another activity... that to take visitors out in the nature!
These activities are practised from the waterfalls of Namuang I and II, but you will also find them at the entry and exit of Chaweng.
The ride lasts ½ hour, there are also longer rides. An activity which delights as much the children as their parents.

BOWLING

Recently opened, the "Living Bowl Centre", proposes you 10 tracks and its own restaurant. The whole in a very colored and musical atmosphere. You must hire shoes and\or bring your socks. A good moment of relaxation in perspective.
It is situated just above Chaweng Beach's McDonald's restaurant.

CANOE AND KAYAK

Imagine yourself, lost in the middle of an archipelago of more than 80 islands on a kayak soaking in turquoise blue waters with a landscape deserving of a picture postcard, well it is possible, some agencies on the island organize daytrips to Angthong Marine National Park. Investigation of caves, meal are in the menu, you only have to let you be guided! Please make inquiries with the local travel agencies. Some hotels also propose some canoes for hire per hour or per half-day.

SAILING

The surroundings of the island lend themselves perfectly to a small tour in sailboat, daytrips or romantic sea dinner admiring a magnificent sunset. Agencies here will be able to reserve you the one that you always dreamed of.
The light breeze that "refreshes" the island does not delight only the guests suffering from the heat, it makes also the enjoyment of the navigators...

THAI BOXING

In Thailand, Muay Thai, in other words "Thai boxing" is the national sport, not only for the spectacle, but also for important bets which it engenders. In spite of its violence, this sport is also an art on its own.

You will be able to attend as a spectator every Monday and Friday at 21 hr, fights at the Chaweng Stadium, not far from the Reggae Pub. There is since recently a stadium also on the road which joins Lamai centre, proposing fights twice a week, please have a look at the advertisement posters.

But if you feel like you have the soul of a fighter, join trainings at Lamai Gym!

GOLF AND MINI-GOLF

"Samui Golf and driving Range" situated at the exit of Chaweng on the way to Bophut, on the just right-hand side when you will perceive Bandon Hospital, despite it is still not a 18 holes (foreseen end of works by the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003), you will anyway be able to train on the current practice and the driving range.
Equipment and balls at disposal. There are also professional trainers to help you. There is also a restaurant at your service.

In Chaweng centre, just behind the "Islander" restaurant, the "Treasure Island Adventure" mini-golf will make the enjoyment of the youngests and families, this course contains 18 holes and by arriving at the 9th hole, a small bar waits for you with refreshments to cool you down and to relax or even to eat something. Opened from noon till midnight.

GO-KART

Samui Go-Kart in Bophut, suggests you a circuit on which you could race with your friends, you will there be able to hire go-karts going from 40 kph for the least fast, good for the young drivers, to 100 kph for those who like the speed and the shivers. A good letting off steam after the beach...

RUNNING

If you have had enough of running alone on the beach, The Hash House Harriers organize runnings the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month which always end around a good beer.
Meetings take place in Tradewinds Cottages for those that are in Chaweng at 3. 30 pm and at 4 pm in Red Fox Bar in Lamai, then you will be taken towards the place of departure for a small jogging.

FITNESS

There are three fitness centres, World Gym on the main road, second club on Chaweng is situated above the "Seaquest" restaurant (including very modern equipment) and Lamai Gym which possesses some body-building outfit and also proposes Thai boxing trainings.
Some large luxury hotels have got their own fitness centre.

SHOOTING

You will be able to train in complete safety under the attentive glance of professionals at "Samui Shooting Range", from the smaller pistol to assault gun.
