    Bangkok Airways is the sole company which operates daily through flights on the island since 1988 and which possesses its own private airport.
    Since recently, there is another company which lands on this airport and connects Samui to Kuala Lumpur: Pelangi Airways.

    To buy a ticket
    Koh Samui Airport To buy a flying ticket, you can go to a Bangkok Airways agency or to any travel agency (which takes a small commission on the price of the ticket), but advantage is that you do not need to move, because there is certainly one near your hotel.
    In addition, you can simply easily book your flights online by the Bangkok Airways' site(see below)!

    Sight by arriving by plane on the island is worth a look because you land in the middle of a tropical vegetation and you have a magnificent sight on Big Buddha (15 metres high).

    The airport is made from wooden houses and becomes completely integrated into the surrounding landscape, it has moreover been rewarded for its style and decoration.

    Limousines or taxi?
    Once you descent from the plane, a bus with several wagons picks you up and bring you to the baggage claim area.
    Then there are private taxis (negotiate the fare before getting into them) or airport limousine service which will lead you on the way to the various beaches of the island. If you have already reserved a room in a hotel and advised of your time of arrival, a hotel staff will come pick you up.

    BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
  • Checked Baggage: 20kg for Adult and child/ 10kg for infant
  • Cabin Baggage: one item of cabin baggage for adult anf child (except infant) and the weight is limited     to 5kg. The size of the cabin baggage may not exceed the following dimensions: 30cm x 60cm x 80cm
  • Excess of baggage = 1.5% per extra kilo of the price of a single ticket for an adult

  • Domestic route: at least 1.00 hour prior to scheduled departure time
  • International route: at least 1.30 hours prior to scheduled departure time

    • AIRPORT TAXES
    For an internal flight from Koh Samui:

    For an international flight:
  • Adult/Child 500 baht per person

    THAI AIRWAYS TO SURATTHANI
     You can also fly to Suratthani with Thai Airways from various Thai cities, then there are shuttles which make the transfer (about 1 hour) to Donsak's pier, then you take a boat to Koh Samui (1:30 crossing hours). It is longer, but it is cheaper, look at the timetables below.
